It’s a new year and 2008 is looking promising when looking through the eyes of faith.
It’s time to get our books in order and start a new fiscal year for most of us. Dave and I have been seeking the Lord for wisdom in regards to new opportunities or ways we can better bring in income. Although we have three separate businesses, they are all based on the agricultural sector and that hurts when the cattle prices are low. What it all boils down to is what we can do to help our bottom line. We continue to remind ourselves that God is our Source and that has brought peace for sure!!
However, there is another bottom line that is even more important!! This bottom line is how do we view ourselves? Is it through what the world tells us? We need to lose weight, drive a nicer vehicle, dye our hair, or own more cows to make us look successful, better and more acceptable to those around us. This does not bring about lasting results of confidence, contentment and peace in our lives.
It is when we know how important we are to God that we can be confident, complete and content. Did you know that He fashioned us while we were in our mother’s womb? Even if you are a result of rape or an unplanned pregnancy, God had you planned. (Psalm 139:13-16) I’ve heard it said that there are no accidental children, just accidental parents.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand… (Psalm 139:17,18)
Whose report are we going to believe? God’s or the world’s? We have been so ingrained to think our worth is based on the world’s standards that we need to renew our thinking to what God thinks of us! We are precious to Him. We are the apple of God’s eye!
How good it feels to be precious to someone, to be the apple of their eye, the object of their affection! How amazing to be the object of God’s affection! I have news for you… God’s Not Mad at you!! He loves you with an everlasting love!!
The bottom line is whether or not you know that God loves you and has planned for you and has a destiny and purpose for you on this earth!! When it comes right down to it, when we know God’s on our side, just imagine what we can do!!
We have been made in the image of God and the very DNA of Christ has been put in us. Let’s rise up to be the ambassadors, the conquerors, the overcomers we’ve been designed to be!! 2008 is a year full of new beginnings, the blessing of God and open doors.
